Kasang Regency Hill Resort caught my eye and without much thought, I decided to check it out.
The experience that followed made me fall in love with the serenity of the hills all over again.

Reaching Kasang Regency Hill Resort Lansdowne is easier than you’d think. Located just 6.5 km before the Lansdowne main town, it’s right on the main road – super easy to spot. I was driving back from Lansdowne city when I noticed the resort and the view alone made me turn the wheel and check-in. Trust me, it was one of the best spontaneous travel decisions I’ve made.
If you’re traveling from Delhi, here’s a simple route:
- By Road: Delhi → Meerut → Bijnor → Najibabad → Kotdwar → Dugadda → Kasang Regency
- By Train: Take a train to Kotdwar Railway Station (41 km away), then hire a taxi or local transport.
- By Air: If you’re flying in, the closest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, located about 150 km from Lansdowne.
Nature’s balcony and vintage charm
As soon as I walked into the resort, I felt a sense of peace. It is located a little away from the hustle and bustle of Lansdowne city, perched on a gentle hill with panoramic views of the valleys below

The room itself had that old-style wooden charm – the ceiling especially gave off those retro vibes. It felt cozy and nostalgic, not like a typical hotel room. And here’s the best part – the elevator is transparent. Yes, you ride up or down and get a clear view of the valley outside. It’s almost like floating between the hills.
Checking In: Smooth as the Breeze
Right from the start, the hospitality was impressive. Check-in and check-out were smooth and quick, which I always appreciate after a long day of travel. The staff at the front desk greeted me with a smile and genuinely seemed happy to have a guest.

I opted for the Deluxe Room, and honestly, it was quite comfortable. The room was clean, well-maintained, and spacious enough to move around without feeling cramped.

- There was no AC in the deluxe room, but that didn’t really bother me. The cool hill weather kept things pleasant naturally, even in summer.
Still, the ambience and view totally made up for it. I’d recommend bringing a light sweater if you’re someone who gets chilly easily.

When it comes to food, Kasang Regency Hill Resort keeps it simple but satisfying. The meals weren’t extravagant, but the taste was good—a nice balance of homely and hearty.
Whether it was the North Indian thali or the evening snacks, the flavor was consistent, and everything was served fresh. Not too spicy, not too bland—just right for a relaxing vacation meal. I didn’t try too many varieties, but from what I had, I’d say the kitchen staff knows how to keep it real and reliable.

Staff behavior: Warm and welcoming
The staff was great during my stay. From housekeeping to the restaurant team and the front desk, everyone was polite, helpful and respectful.

The one weird thing: The doorbell
No stay is complete without that one weird thing, right?
For me, it was the doorbell. I still don’t understand why a doorbell sounds so weird to the first time hearer. No big deal, but definitely a fun little memory that’s always stayed with me.

About the Glass Lift – A View with Every Ride
This might sound odd to mention, but the glass lift at the resort actually became one of my favorite features. As it moves up and down, it gives you a breathtaking view of the valley and surrounding hills – kind of like a mini mountain ride without stepping outside.
It’s a small touch, but it adds so much charm to your stay. If you’re scared of heights, maybe just look straight ahead—but if you love views, don’t miss the ride!
