Right Decisions to Make While Traveling
Sometimes, the best plans are the ones that come without planning. Some time ago, I decided to spend a night at Pinaka Hotel & Resort with my family on my way to Haridwar – not because I was looking for a place to stay, but because the resort was on my list of priorities for quite some time.
I had eaten at their restaurant once and loved the food. So this time, I decided to stop by and stay at this property.
Why I chose Pinaka
The resort is located near Shriram Ashram in Shyampur, Najibabad Road — just a short distance from Haridwar city. Since everything I wanted to see was nearby, I didn’t need to stay there for long. I had booked the hotel online, but yes, I had to pay extra for early check-in upon reaching.

A bit annoying, but nothing that would spoil the mood.
First impression: Entrance and ambiance
One thing that stood out immediately was the entrance and parking area. Wide, clean, and welcoming – it gave off a luxury resort vibe. The staff greeted us politely, and the lobby area was beautifully decorated with a touch of class. Everything around seemed well-maintained and thoughtfully designed.
Room: Comfortable and clean
I stayed in an Executive Room, and honestly, it was exactly what I expected – spacious, clean, and comfortable. The room had everything I needed:
- Comfortable bed
- Clean bathroom
- Proper air conditioning
- A work desk and fast wifi
The size felt perfect, especially because I was traveling with family. The small changes in the decor made it feel warm and inviting. We didn’t use the TV much, but it was there, and the lighting in the room was perfectly balanced – not too bright, not too dim.
Tip: If you’re someone who carries a lot of electronics, a good travel-friendly extension board like this one can come in handy.
Restaurant Experience: Good Food, Limited Non-Veg
One of the highlights of this trip — and a major reason why I picked this resort — was the restaurant. Their in-house restaurant “Dalchini” and they served both Indian and continental options. I had tried their food before, so my expectations were already high.
This time again, they didn’t disappoint. Although the non-veg options were limited, the food was fresh, nicely presented, and tasted great. We had a mix of Indian dishes, and everything was cooked just right — no unnecessary spice or oil overload.

Also, big thumbs up to the restaurant staff — they were extremely polite and attentive.
Food lovers don't forget to carry a compact spice organizer for your trips — especially if you're picky about flavor. Here's a good one: travel spice kit
Resort Amenities I Noticed
Since my stay was only for a day and it was winter season, I couldn’t use many amenities. But here’s what the resort offers:
- Swimming pool (looked clean and well-maintained, just not for winter!)
- Spa and Gym with modern machines and wellness options
- Fast WiFi — which I used and was quite happy with
- Indoor games like chess, Carrom, ludo, and table tennis
- Outdoor activities like cricket, basketball, cycling, and archery
- Wedding Hall and spaces for social events

Planning a staycation? This neck support travel pillow made my power naps so much better on the way.
The property is spread over 1.25 acres, which gives it a grand feel without being overwhelmingly large. Even though I was there for a short while, I could sense how ideal this place would be for weddings or pre-wedding shoots.
Staff and Service
Let’s talk about one of the most underrated parts of any hotel — staff behavior. From the reception to the restaurant, everyone was polite, well-trained, and genuinely helpful. There was no rush or carelessness in how they treated guests, which say a lot about the resort’s standards.
Yes, I had to pay for early check-in, which could have been avoided — but other than that, I had no issues with their service.
Pro tip: Always carry compact shoe cleaning wipes while staying in such elegant places. You never know when you’ll need them!
What could be better?
No place is perfect, and this resort is no exception. If I had to say something:
- I wish there was no extra charge for early check-in
- Non-veg options in the restaurant were less than expected
- Brief introductory information about the facilities available for first-time guests would have been helpful.
Location Advantage: Away From Crowd, Yet Close to Everything
One of the things I absolutely appreciated about Pinaka Hotel & Resort is its strategic location. Nestled on Najibabad Road near Shriram Ashram, it offers the peace of a countryside stay while being close enough to the main city attractions.
If you’re someone who finds the Haridwar crowd overwhelming, this resort is a peaceful alternative. The Har Ki Pauri area, the ghats, Chandi Devi temple and Mansa Devi temple are not too far — and if you have your own vehicle or a cab, you’re sorted.
It’s far enough from the chaos and closes enough to access everything comfortably.
A Day Well-Spent Inside the Resort
Since I had already explored most parts of Haridwar before arriving, I decided to just chill and enjoy the resort for a day. And trust me, there’s enough to do inside to keep you occupied.
From walking paths, lawns, and relaxing by the pool (even if you don’t enter it), to sitting in their well-decorated common lounge, the resort is perfect for a mini-retreat.
If you’re visiting in the warmer months, the swimming pool is going to be a huge bonus. They also have bicycles for kids, which I noticed being used by other families.
Don’t forget to carry your UV-protected sunglasses — Haridwar sun can get intense, even in winters!
Ideal for Families and Small Events
Being a family traveler this time, I noticed how family-friendly the property is. Kids have space to run around. Elderly people can sit peacefully in the outdoor garden area. Even the rooms are spacious enough for small families to share comfortably.
Also, there are banquet facilities — which I didn’t use but noticed while walking around. The staff shared that they regularly organize events and gatherings at the property.
- Birthday parties
- Engagement ceremonies
- Small wedding functions
If you’re planning any such event near Haridwar, this place deserves to be on your shortlist.
Photography Lovers, You’ll Love This Place
Let me just say it — this place is photogenic. Whether you love clicking family portraits, food shots, or you’re a travel content creator, you’ll find plenty of photo-worthy corners here.
The architecture, open spaces, the colorful lighting in the evening, and their restaurant decor — it all adds up beautifully.
My suggestion- Keep a mini tripod like this lightweight travel tripod in your backpack — you'll thank yourself later.
Who Should Visit This Resort?
Here’s a quick breakdown of who will love this resort:
- Families looking for a peaceful stay
- Couples who want a romantic but simple getaway
- Solo travelers who love quiet corners and good WiFi
- Business travelers attending events or looking for a corporate stay
- Wedding planners or guests attending events in Haridwar
But if you’re only looking for budget accommodation near the main ghat, this might not be your pick. It’s a little away from the city center and offers more comfort than budget.
